Wildlife Habitat dedicated July 26, 2009

During Bishop Henderson's visitation July 26, nine people were confirmed or received and two persons reaffirmed their baptismal vows.  Eleven additional persons came forward at the Bishop's invitation to reaffirm their vows.  After the liturgy inside, the congregation processed to the new memorial garden with stone altar on the other side of the cross wall.  After the Bishop dedicated the altar, we processed to the habitat area.  This recently certified wildlife space was named The Dorsey Henderson Wildlife Habitat.

The following prayer was offered by our Vicar:

Most holy Jesus, Our Lord and Our God, we give you abundant thanks for this your servant Dorsey.  We thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit poured so graciously upon him and through him in order that your kingdom might prosper.  Our lives, along with many others, have been changed through the prayer and labor he has offered to you as our Bishop.  Now, in thanksgiving to you, we name this habitat in his honor.  We pray that your loving presence, so visible to us in his life, may continue to touch all who come here.  May we remain One in Mission, remembering that you have woven us together as One Body, wherever we might be.  All this we ask in your Holy Name.  Amen.
